"PARTNERS IN HEALING" for YOUTH AT RISK

Partners In Healing - Children and Youth Coping With Loss
Caring
The volunteer Michel Yinhar with boys in Seminar neer Nach-sholim

Partners in Healing reaches out to children who have experienced violence and disaster, to provide immediate first aid and practical solutions for the most pressing problems, as well as compassionate, one-to-one care: "being there" for the child, listening, alleviating fears and helping to restore the shattered sense of safety.

Connectedness

Partners in Healing brings these children together through special retreats, wilderness activities, adventure experiences, and nature excursions to strengthen their connection to Israel and its landscapes, and provide space for sharing and developing coping skills. These experiences enable them to become active participants – partners – in healing.

Continuity

SELAH's volunteers and professionals continue to "be there" year after year to provide: individual and group support as needed; assistance in navigating transition periods; participation in life cycle events. Over the years, some of the youngsters who have been helped by this program have gone on to become volunteers, models of hope for others.
